I have been attending the Eye Clinic at Queen's for the last 25 years or so.Each time I was examined by a different clinician who had a quick glance at my clinical notes, visual check of my eyes and their pressure and then sent me away with the instruction of either to continue with the existing eye drops or a new prescription. Having worked as a dentist myself before I retired,I know how important continuity is in the successful management of the patients. It is not always possible to arrive at the right clinical decision just by looking at a snap shot of the clinical picture at the time. Since Miss P Abeysiri arrived, she has been seeing me continuously.Although pushed for time (clinical time is a very precious comodity in the NHS),she takes time to engage me in my treatment, presents me with various treatment options, their benefits as well as risks. This I appreciate very much. I just had a cataract operation carried out by Miss P Abeysiri and her team at King George's Hospital. The whole procedure was uneventful.I can't praise enough the supporting nursing team at the out patient clinic. They were all cheerful and look after the patients really well. After the operation, they made sure we were alright and treated us with a cup of tea and biscuit. All the patients left with a smile.

My elderly mum has been seeing Miss Abeysiri for around 4 months she is so kind and patient and extremely professional. Takes the extra time to ensure everything is absolutely done properly. Mum has been treated with kindness and been helped every step of the way with her treatment.

I have been under the care of Dr Abeysiri for several years. From our 1st meeting I was impressed by her caring and friendly manner. She always takes the time to explain in detail the various issues that arise.Recently she successfully removed both Cataracts from eyes.I can say I was totally relaxed throughout the procedures , due in no small part to the exemplary professionalism displayed by Dr Abeysiri.I therefore have no hesitation in awarding the highest scores and highly recommending her.

The doctor visited me at Queen's Hospital Romford and operated me at King George Hospital Ilford on Monday 07-02-2022 in my left eye. I will still need to be operated in my right eye in about two months. I am very satisfied with the operation and its result. I had local anesthesia and I did not feel any pain at all during the surgery. The doctor explained me step by step what she was going to do and I found it very good. Now I am recovering from the operation and in two months I will have my right eye operated as well. I hope Ms Poorna Abeysiri will be the one to do that operation as well.
